Alexandra Palla’s journey began in 2010 with the launch of Rough Cut Blog, one of Austria’s first food blogs, quickly followed by the founding of the Austria Food Blog Award. Since 2012, Alexandra has personally curated and hosted the annual awards, reinforcing her role as both tastemaker and community builder within Austria’s food and culture scene.

As a long-standing contributor to Vienna Design Week, Alexandra has participated as an exhibitor, program partner, and creative force—developing projects such as Roughcut Hall, Cook & Design, and Community Cooking in collaboration with design studio EOOS. In 2013, Alexandra introduced her first design product: the Rough Cut Board, created with design duo Dottings. The wooden cutting board—now part of the Museum of Applied Arts Vienna collection—set the tone for what PALLA VIENNA would become: functional, poetic, and deeply rooted in craft. Distributed across Europe and later stocked at the Monocle Store Tokyo, the board remains a defining object of the brand.
The evolution continued in 2018 with the birth of Kitchen Kouture by PALLA VIENNA. Working with traditional linen mill Vieböck, Alexandra transformed classic kitchen-check dish towel fabrics into garments—blurring the line between culinary heritage and contemporary fashion. Her cookbooks, *Put a Lot of Love in It and My Summer Retreat Kitchen, further reflect this holistic approach, pairing recipes with atmosphere, design, and personal storytelling.

Today, PALLA VIENNA extends beyond products into immersive culinary events such as Sommerfrische Dinners at Villa Alma and Feine Schweinerein with the Friends & Fools of Rote Wand.
